Course-Integrated Instruction

The faculty librarians are available to collaborate with you in the design of course-integrated library instruction sessions for your students.

  • Call, email, or come to the library to arrange a class session.
  • We schedule library instruction in LIBR 139 or will come to your classroom.
  • When scheduling your library sessions, please bring a copy of the assignment and let us know what outcomes you expect from the session and the assignment.
  • Plan to spend time with us discussing your course and assignment goals.
  • Please schedule your class session at least a week in advance. We do not schedule classes during the first week of a quarter.
  • We ask that instructors be in attendance during the class session.

Remember

  • Library instruction is most effective when students are working on relevant assignments at the time of the session.
  • Your students may benefit from more than one library session. These can be scheduled sequentially, or at intervals to allow time for investigation and follow-up.
